Day 11: It's "A Small World After All"
Friday, January 21, 2011
In 2006 I moved to Orlando, Florida to participate in Walt Disney World's College Program. While I was there I became friends with many different people, a few of which were from across the globe. One of many great individuals that I met was Nacho V. Nacho is from Argentina and has been a big help for Terry and I, even before we arrived. I've sent him numerous emails that one might consider silly and pointless questions. Nacho has always been able to answer them and made us feel a little bit more comfortable about the move to Argentina.
Last night Terry and I had the pleasure of eating dinner and drinking a few beers with Nacho. It was so nice to meet up with him again and to talk face to face. We all had a really good time and I'm looking forward to many more nights hanging out with Nacho.
Nacho took us to a place called Acabar located in the Palermo area. I liked this place. It was very cool and had a laid back atmosphere. Terry called it a Restro-Bar.

The menu that the table is given was a set of 40 colorful cards, each with a single food item listed. We had Parrilla Queso (Grilled Cheese) as an appetizer. Terry and Nacho split a meal of Papas Fitas (French Fries) and Revuelto Gramajo (Think loaded french fries but instead of fries like we know it, it was potato chips covered with scrambled eggs, ham, veggies, onions and cheese). I had Creeps de Carne con Creme de Blanco (Creeps filled with beef and onions covered in a sort of alfredo sauce).
This is the first restaurant we have ran into where there was a $6 peso ($1.50 USD) charge for your silverware, per person.
What makes this bar unique is that they have a large selection of board games which you can take to your table and play. They had a version of Guess Who? (called Secret Agent), but it didn't have any black people on it, which cuts down on the racial aspect of your first question.
What I liked most about this place was that every area within the building had character. There were interesting old chandeliers, old doors and pop art hanging from the wall, and funny ornaments around each room. None of the tables were identical, they were tables like you would find in a someones dining room but without matching chairs.
When we have visitors come visit, this is a place that I would love to take them to.
