Day 14: Parque Norte - Buenos Aires' Waterpark

Sunday, January 23, 2011 Posted by Terry
Today we went to a waterpark in Buenos Aires called Parque Norte. Parque Norte is most similar to a country club.  One half has basketball courts, tennis courts (grass and clay), soccer courts, paddle ball, etc. The other half has 5 huge wading pools (3 of which are larger than an acre each).  Other then the adults pool, none were deeper then 5 feet in their center.

This was our first attempt at navigating the city bus system and it almost went off without a hitch.  We ended up jumped off our 2nd bus a little too early. We panicked when we saw a waterpark, but it wasn't Parque Norte.  During our mile and a half walk, we got to see the shore of the Rio de la Plata and passed at least 200 fishing poles.  In the picture below, this guy caught a flying fish but throw it back.  Apparently they aren't worth eating.

When we arrived at Parque Norte, the ticket agent pointed us toward the locker rooms and informed us the pool requires a medial exam before you can enter.  The medical exam was to check for feet fungus and head lice.  If you passed your medical exam, you receive a card good for 30 days, if you don't pass you have to request a refund.

The weather today was around 90F so Elizabeth and I have a good bit of red. Thankfully, we conquered our bus ride home because the bottom of my feet were not agreeing with my flip flops and I couldn't take another mile and a half mistake.

  1. See if Brian can get the Clorine contract!
