Day 229: Quito Ecuador

This week, Terry and I were fortunate to add one more country's stamp to our passport; Ecuador.   We began our short trip in the capital city of Quito.  Quito is surrounded on all four sides by the Andes mountain range giving visitors and locals a like a breathtaking view.

On our first day in Quito, we visited the "Old Town" of Quito. Stopping at the Plaza de La Independencia.

After the plaza, we headed back up the hill to visit the Basilica del Voto Nacional.  This Basilica is a must see in Quito.  Within the church you are able to climb 300 ft to the top of the tallest spire, giving you an unbelievable view of the city.   Those afraid of heights be warned, you will be climbing up narrow spiral ladders and steep step ladders to reach not only the clock tower but also the bell tower.
